We started by designing toddler beach toys the way a mom would design them—because, well, a mom did design them. That means a bucket with built-in handles that won't break off; a lid with geometric cut-outs for sifting and learning shapes; 2 cups for sand and water play; and one virtually indestructible shovel. It all fits easily inside the bucket for carrying to the beach. And in the off-season, they're great for the bathtub—plus the bucket doubles as a container for crayons and toys.We're proud to say that Zoë b Biodegradable Beach Toys are made in the USA, not China. And they're unlike any other beach toys in the world. Though just as tough as regular plastic, they're made with Mirel™ bioplastic from corn. That means no BPA, phthalates, or PVC. And if they get accidentally left on the beach and washed out to sea, they'll completely biodegrade in 2-3 years (same results in fresh water, compost, or buried in soil). Regular, petroleum-based plastic takes around 500 years to break down—and even then, it just breaks into tiny bits that get ingested by marine animals. Call us crazy, but at Zoë b, we believe beach toys are for playing—not killing thousands of birds and sea turtles. These beach toys are fantastic! They are much higher quality than the cheaper plastic beach toys available (every other sand toy we have bought has broken within a week or two). My son LOVES them- we took them to the beach this summer and he couldn't get enough of them. The shovel is perfectly sized for his little hands, and he loves to stack the two cups. The box is great too- he loves putting the toys inside of the box, putting the lid back on, and then taking everything out again. He plays with these toys inside the house, at the park, and at the beach. I love the fact that they are biodegradable too. These are a little pricey, but definitely worth it!
