We got this hourglass sifter/funnel this past summer and it has been a very popular toy at the beach. It is very durable and we love that you can use it for both water and sand. The kids (ages ranging from 3-7) use it at home as well in the summertime. It's been in the pool as a water funnel and in the sandbox as a sand funnel. The top and bottom snap on easily and it does stay closed while the kids are playing with it. We've never had a problem with it popping open. We think it is a very fun, durable, and unique toy and it gets plenty of use!
