My son (2 y/o) has had this digger 6 months and he loves it. I actually just ordered my nephew (4 y/o) one as well. It is sturdy and I haven't had any problems with either of the boys tipping over on it. The base detaches from the rest of the digger so that you can leave the base buried and remove the digger to lay flat when covering the sandbox with a tarp. I haven't had any problems with the metal bending or any problems with the digger at all. My boys are 30 and 40 pounds so we haven't reached the 70 pound weight limit but so far so good!
