This is way cool. I bought this scoop specifically to "repurpose" it as a poop scoop for a cat litterbox. It is meant for beach sand, even when it's wet, so I figured it would be pretty sturdy. The main purpose was to get my face further away from the dust of the litter (and, well, the poo too). Ideally, I wanted to be able to stand straight up but it's just a bit too short, so I do have to bend a little. Since this is meant to sift sand, it takes a few shakes to sift gravel like litter. But still, the plus is being further away from the litterbox. The handle is supposed to extend to 39 inches but after several tries I could only get it to 29 inches. NOTE: I did look at the long handle scoops already designed for cat litter but found them too expensive.
